How do the Seasons Effect Next 2 Natural Artificial Grass?
Artificial grass is very popular in zones with hot climates. The advantages of artificial grass – like water saving, and very low maintenance – make up for the one disadvantage of the artificial lawn.
Artificial grass has many benefits but indeed one drawback. It does heat up in the sun. Natural grass has a cooling effect, artificial grass does not. All things that are exposed to direct sunlight get warm. This of course applies to artificial grass as well.
Winter cold is not a problem for Next 2 Natural® artificial grass. The lawn will not be damaged by a long frost, or break if walked on. However, pay attention with snow or black ice. If snow is allowed to form a layer of ice, this should not be removed by hand in order to prevent damage to the grass fibers. In this instance, the snow should be allowed to melt naturally. Alternatively, you can use ice melt but the residue can remain on the carpet backing and can interfere with the draining effect of your lawn. To make your artificial lawn free of snow, use a plastic snow shovel. Metal snow shovels can damage the synthetic fibers more easily.
Rainy weather is no problem for Next 2 Natural grass. During the manufacturing process, the backing is perforated allowing water to drain right through. Depending on the surface on which it is installed, drainage will occur just as it would have before the turf was installed. If there was already a drainage problem in the area, this should be addressed prior to installation. As a matter of fact, rain will help keep your artificial lawn clean and looking “alive”.
